Barbara McVay Edmonson

Barbara Ann Edmonson was born July 21, 1953 to Herod McVay and Augusta Smalley. She joined St Luke Methodist Church at an early age but after marrying Ruben, she became a member of First Missionary Baptist in Tuscumbia.

Barbara was a graduate of Sheffield High School Class of1971 and made a career as a hairdresser.

Barbara's earthly journey of life ended on May 24, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her father, Herod McVay, her mother, Augusta Smalley, a sister, Hazel Cotton and brother, Jeff Malone and also a loving husband for over 30 years, Ruben Edmonson.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Ramon (Raven) Edmonson, Kelvin (Shannon) Edmonson and Tyler Ramon Edmonson, three sisters, Freida and Mona Smalley from Cleveland Ohio, Deborah (Willie B) Love, Memphis, TN, and two brothers, James and Russell Smalley of Columbus, OH, stepmother, Gleria McVay, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Elaine Malone; one brother-in-law, Glen Cotton; one uncle, Jack Holiday, and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
