Charity Marie Thompson was born (loving known as Charity Bell, Bell, Madea, and Baree) on August 22, 1948, in Florence, Alabama, to the late Annie Mae Barnett Clemmons and Henry Thompson.
She attended Burrell-Slater and Westend School.
Charity enjoyed singing, playing the piano, spending time with her family, talking on the phone, watching game shows, planting flowers, road trips, and most of all eating home cooked meals prepared by her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Thompson and Annie Mae Clemmons; son, Scottie Perkins; and daughter, Venita Kaye Perkins; siblings, Francis Barnett, Robert James Clemmons, Billy Thompson, Mary Catherine Thompson, George Thompson, Felix Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and Rebecca Thompson.
She was loved and cherished by her daughter, Lawanda Faye Agee (Robert), Taylorsville, MS; Son, Jeffrey Perkins, Florence, AL; sister, Clara Nixon, Florence, AL, Louise Horton(George), Sheffield, AL, Janice Clemmons, Indianapolis, IN; Alberta Abernathy, Florence, AL, Janice Rutland(David), Muscle Shoals, AL and Lizzie Thompson, Florence, AL; brothers, Mitchell Thompson(Cheryl), Omaha, NE, Mark Thompson (Phyllis), Tuscumbia, AL; sisters-in-law, Evonne Thompson, Indianapolis, IN, Juanita Perkins, Lucinda Perkins, both of Florence, AL, and Edna Thompson, Vancouver, WA; brothers-in-law, James Perkins and Will Thompson, both of Florence, Al; grandsons, Daimion Rashad Perkins (Kelly), Brandon Eugene Skipworth (Morgan), Columbia, TN; great grandchildren, Lola Elaine Perkins, Daimion Reign Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends, including Natalie Burt, Mosella Ford, the late Vivian Stovall, Evelyn Pugh, Otha Lee Ragland and Patricia Bates.
