Cleo Cole Caldwell was born on October 29, 1935, to the late Alex Cole and Pearl Thomas Cole in Lauderdale County. She peacefully departed life on November 13, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
At an early age, Cleo accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of Robert Johnson at Rock PB Church in Florence.
Cleo was a dedicated worker for over 40 years at the University of North Alabama. She was a mother and grandmother to so many and touched so many people lives.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Pearl Cole; son, Jeffery Cole; and siblings, Eliza Simpson, Warner Cole, Arthur Cole, and Ezell Cole.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted daughter, Glenda Cole King of Florence, Alabama; two devoted sons, Kelvin Cole of Florence, Alabama, and Charles (Lisa) Caldwell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; ten beloved grandchildren, Michael Garrett, Marco Ross, Tamika Garrett, Olandus Caldwell (Kim), Chris Smith, LaTonika Guins, Leo Jermaine King, Jessica Benjamin, Jazmen (Robyn) Cunningham, and Kelvin Cole, Jr.
Along with these loved ones are thirty-seven great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
