David Jerome Johnson, better known as Jerome, was born on August 14, 1970, to the late Mr. Walter Johnson and the late Mrs. Frances Goodloe Johnson. Jerome lived all of his adult life in Springfield, MA. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended church regularly. He went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Jerome graduated from Putnam Vocational High School and after graduation and college he worked for the State of MA. Jerome worked for the state of MA for almost 20 years working for the Department of Development Services where he cared for mentally challenged adults. He loved his job and he loved caring for these people. He took them on outings and provided for their daily needs and their wellbeing. He worked passionately until he could no longer work due to health issues.
He loved traveling to see family in Northwest Alabama where he would indulge in eating soul food, visiting the sites, and reconnecting with family. Jerome loved football. He was passionate about his New England Patriots and Alabama Crimson Tide. He also loved his collectables and would spend hours putting together Lego sets. Jerome was a loving, kind-hearted person that would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He always tried to keep in touch.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerome leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Regina Frazier; his aunt, Louise Hyler; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones.
