Donnie Ray Poole was born on April 4, 1959, at E.C.M. Hospital in Lauderdale County, Florence, Alabama, to the late Alton Eugene (Doty) Poole and Marie Brown Poole.
He transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.Donnie attended W.C. Handy and Brandon Elementary School, Weeden Middle School, and Bradshaw High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, wrestling, and track. He graduated from Coffee High School.
He confessed Christ in 1974 at East Florence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Thomas Sparks. He attended St. James Missionary Baptist Church from youth to adulthood until matriculating to Bethel Lauderdale M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Sammie J. Milton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Alton Eugene Poole (Doty) and Marie Brown Poole.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Nakivio Poole; daughters, Katori Edmondson and Brilei Alred; granddaughter, Miriam Donkoh; brothers, Alton Poole and Allen (Arnatta) Poole; sisters, Jeanie Poole and Janice Bowens; aunts, Nettie Malone, Ruth (Wesley) Butler and Violin (George) Scott; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
