Gwendolyn Joyce Elliott

Gwendolyn Joyce Elliott, 78, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Muscle Shoals, AL. Born on June 12, 1946, Gwen was a graduate of Lakeside High School in Decatur, AL, class of 1964.

Gwen dedicated over 40 years to the healthcare arena, caring for those in need at various nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers. Her compassionate presence and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on many lives.

She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she joyfully participated in church activities and shared her musical talents. Her love for music and singing extended into her personal life, along with her fondness for reading and listening to books on tape, which provided her much joy and comfort. She is survived by her children, Earl Vaughn Dorsey Elliott II (Augustina), Fornia Faye Williams (Doug), Joseph Aaron Elliott (Mary), and Micah Richard Elliott (Yelitza); her siblings, Linda Kay Stewart (Michael), Charles Gregory Owens (Regina) and Sharon Yvonne Owens; along with nine grandchildren, Joseph, Elena, Benjamin, Amber, Aliyah, Tristen, Elijah, Olivia, Gabrielle; nieces, Mona, Deandrea, Chasity, Paris, nephew, Kevius, two great nieces and one great nephew.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lorene Owens, and brother, John Michael Owens. Gwendolyn's life was a testament to her kindness, generosity, and the deep love she had for her family and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
