Gwendolyn Anne Pride, age 76, entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2026; received into the grace of the Lord she loved and faithfully served.
Her life was marked by Christian faith, perseverance, and extraordinary generosity toward others.
She was baptized at Cherokee Church of Christ and served as a Sunday school teacher, loving her brothers and sisters in Christ with compassion and sincerity. Her faith was lived daily through kindness, giving, and service.
Raised by her grandparents, Oscar and Mollie Sullivan, she carried their values of strength and stability throughout her life. A graduate of Cherokee High School during segregation, she later fulfilled a lifelong goal by earning her bachelor's degree in her 50s, reflecting her determination and resilience.
She was known for a generosity that was truly lived — if she saw a need, she responded. Giving came naturally to her and reflected the love of Christ she held in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Fant; her beloved sibling, Lucille Hardin; her niece Juanita Hardin; several aunts and uncles; and the grandparents who raised her.
She loved her family deeply especially her grandchildren Jennifer Williams, Nickolas Long, both of Lawrenceville, GA; great grandchildren, Jordyn Williams, Lawrenceville, GA, and Jada Boyd,
Dahlonega, GA. In her final season, she was cared for with devoted love by her daughter, Ne’Oshuna Q. Pride.
She is survived by her husband James Arthur Pride; her daughters, Ne’Oshuna Quadrale Pride, Tuscumbia, AL, and Dahlia Nichole Long (Mickey), Lawrenceville, GA; cherished aunts, Flora Southern, Julia McKay, Annie Pearl, and Lula Goodloe; one niece, Linda Hardin; two nephews, Tracey Hardin and Larry Hardin, many extended family, and her church family and friends.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
