Joe L. Lovelace

Funeral service for Mr. Lovelace will be held June 12, 2009 at 1:00pm at the New Pisgah AME Church in Florence, Al. Rev. Carey Vickers is officiating. After a long and faithful life, God called his servant home on June 8, 2009 at age 97. Mr. Joe Lester Lovelace was a lifelong and faithful member of the New Pisgah AME Church, serving in any capacity needed. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge F& AM. He retired from TVA after twenty six years of service. He was a faithful, loving, and respected member of his community sharing his love for Christ with his many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Lovelace, Brothers Larry and Robert, his sisters Olivia Hollingsworth, Mattie Pearl Mullins, Alma Egson, Ida M. Cooper, and Margaret Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory; one stepson Larry Joe ( Miranda) Hill; step granddaughter Tiffany Hill, and three other step grandchildren all of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Clara Evans of San Diego, California; two sisters in law, Evelyn Lovelace, Nashville, Tennessee, and Inez Dubois, Florence, Alabama; a very devoted niece and caretaker Jerline Hughes and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.God saw you were getting weary so he did what he thought was best. He came and stood beside you and whispered "Come unto me and rest"
