She was born November 3, 1928, in Smithville, Miss., to Claude and Annie Young. Josephine attended Burrell High School in Florence. She was a faithful member of the High Street Church of Christ in Tuscumbia. She leaves to cherish her memory her spouse of over 60 years, John B. Ricks. She also leaves one grandson, Marshall (Angela) Mason; great-granddaughter, Dy'mond; great-grandson, Ezekial, all of Chicago, Ill.; five sisters and one brother, Myrtle Banks, Alice Fields, Helen Scott, all of Saginaw, Mich., Ocene Morris of Detroit, Mich., Shirley Young of Sterling Heights, Mich., Lincoln (Maria) Young, Central Islip, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Louise Mullins; brother-in-law, Ellis Ricks, both of Chicago, Ill.; many nieces, nephews and friends including a very special niece, Annie Jean Young and special friend, Joe S.
