Joyce Marie Malone

Ms. Joyce Marie Malone was born on February 15, 1937, Florence, AL to the late Melvin and Mamie Malone. She departed this life on June 25, 2024 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing
Center, Florence, AL.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah PB Church, Florence, AL and was a member until her passing. Her Christian service included Sunday School teacher, choir member, Missionary Society, part of kitchen committee during special events, and Muscle Shoals Mass Choir. Her favorite scripture was 1 Cor 13, (Love, Love, Love).

Ms. Joyce Marie Malone graduated from Burrell Slater High in 1955, and then went on tocomplete Vocational Trade School for Cosmetology.

She was a member of the Quad City Beautician Club, and Florence Housing Board member 2002-2023.

She was a hairdresser and famous for her peanut butter cookies, pound cakes, and other homecooked meals. Also, she was proper in her speaking. She enjoyed decorating for special events and holidays, feeding and sharing with others, her flowers, sitting on the porch, and greeting all. Joyce, Marion, and Miriam, the Malone Sisters, dressed fine in their Sunday Best with their hats,did many things together and affectional known for their delicious home cooked meals and desserts, and sharing with others. Their portrait can be found hanging in the Florence Public Library.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Malone and sisters, Marion Green and Miriam Brown.
