Obituary Ms. Katie Lee Duster of Florence, Alabama, was born February 21, 1941, to the late Robert (Honey) Goodloe and Jessie Mae Duckett Goodloe. She departed her life Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with St. James Missionary Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until death.
Katie attended Burrell Slater High School. She worked for Tee Jays and was employed by the Mangrum family.
She served faithfully, singing for many years with the St. James Special Chorus and the St. James Mass Choir.
Katie leaves to cherish her sister, Julia A. McDaniel; sisters-in-law, Gwen Goodloe, Elvira Rhodes, Carolyn Duster, and Julia Walker; daughter-in-law, Gladys Duster; grandchildren, Acoya Duster, James Duster, Jennifer Duster, Keith Duster, Charles Johnson, and Alex Duster; great-granddaughters, Olivia Duster and Cee Cee Johnson; special nephew, Rufus Goodloe; special niece, Kimberly Davis; great-niece, Kimora Davis; special friends, Richard and Glenda Turner; and special goddaughter, Patricia Bates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Duster, and two sons, Charles E. Duster and Michael Duster.
