Lake Calvin Smith was born on April 11, 1946, to the late Raleigh Baugh and Ophelia Minor. At an early age Lake and his two brothers were adopted by their grandparents Lake and Pennsylvania Smith.
He was born and raised in Florence, AL, where he attended West End High School and later Burrell Slater. Lake spent most of his adult life in Cocoa Beach, Florida, with his special friend, the late Shirley Robinson. There he was employed as a culinary chef on a cruise ship until he retired. In 2013, Lake and his late brother George moved back home to Florence.
Lake leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter Mary Southward (Michael), Florence, AL; two sons Adam Smith (Rosanna), Philadelphia, PA, and Leon Smith (Crystal), SC; His older brother Jessie Smith (Mary), Florence, AL; one sister Roberta Baugh (Nashville); twenty-two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
