A Brief Sketch of Life
Louis Hildred McCroskey Jr. was the youngest son to the late Louis and Fannie McCroskey. Born on a crisp autumn day in Florence, Alabama. Louis’ journey began on November 23rd, 1941, and it was a life marked by faith, love, and kindness.
From an early age, Louis embraced his faith. He became a cherished member of the Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, where he served on the Usher board. His commitment to his faith was evident in his actions and words, touching the lives of many.
Louis was a humble kindhearted and loving man, his counsel wise, and his generosity boundless. Louis departed his earthly life on Friday May 24th, 2024.
Louis compassionately known by many as “DOC”, was one of the greatest football players in his time at Burrell-Slater High School. He was also known for his sharp dressing, and wisdom shared. He worked at Shoals Hospital where he taught many the ropes around the hospital (hence, the name DOC). He retired from Shoals early and enjoyed life until his earthly departure.
