With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Marvin Lee “Peewee” Boddie, who was taken from us too soon on April 25, 2025. Marvin was born on May 25, 1962, to the late Ed Henry and Willie Teen Boddie.
Marvin attended Sheffield High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team. After graduating from high school, he had a long and rewarding career working for the family business, E & J Drywall Company of Muscle Shoals, Ala. He brought immeasurable joy, happiness, and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless love for family and friends. Though his time with us was so brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Marvin leaves to cherish his everlasting memories, two brothers: Dennis (d. Karen Lynn) Boddie (Florence, Ala.), Anthony (Tricia) Boddie (Hillsborough, NC.); two sisters: Priscilla (d. Ronald) Sledge (Florence, Ala.), Myrtle Jarmon (Tacoma, WA.); one sister-in-law: Monica (d. John) Boddie (Muscle Shoals, Ala.); one God Sister: Andrea Anderson (Harper Woods, Mich.); twenty-two nephews and nieces.
Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents Ed Henry and Willie Teen Boddie; brothers: John Boddie and Demetrius Boddie; brother-in-law: Ronald B. Sledge and sister-in-law: Karen Lynn Coffey.
John 14:1-4 (ESV). “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers and cards, donations be made to your choice of charity for Cancer Research.
