Obituary Oliver G. Jackson, Sr., (Buddy), 78, of Florence, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12,2026, at North Alabama Medical Center.
Oliver was born June 25, 1947, in Florence, Alabama, to Willie and Estella Jones Jackson, who both preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ at an early age at New Pisgah AME Church, where he was a faithful and devoted member.
He retired from Ford Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio, after many years of serving as a Machine Operator.
Oliver leaves to cherish his memories with one son, Oliver G. Jackson, Jr., of Lima, OH; three daughters, Zenobia Grace Jackson of Ocala, FL, Michelle Jackson of Florence, AL, and Rosetta Jackson of Fort Wayne, IN; beloved grandchildren, Jaywan, Jerin, and Shaine Jackson and Ja’lrus Wash of Lima, OH, and Rossi and Tyler Jackson Armstead of Ocala, FL; Ashley McCord, Kori Herron, and Aryn Herron (Louis Holloway) of Florence, AL, and J’Zya Jackson of Riverdale, GA; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Betty) Jackson of Detroit, MI, and Donnie (Brenda) Jackson of Florence, AL; sisters, Edith Wilkerson of Lima, OH, Mattie Sistrunk of Florence, AL, Leola Montgomery of Detroit, MI, and Hester Johnson of Dayton, OH; sister- in-law, Judy Jackson of Lima, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Oliver was preceded in death by son, Nicholas Jerome Pride; two brothers, Willie Jackson and John Leamon Jackson; and one sister, Nellie A. Hardy.
