Smith, officiatingInterment in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, AlabamaThe body will be placed in the church at 10:00amVisitation with the family will be Friday, 6-8:00pm.Mr. Meade was preceded in death by his wife, Esther J. Meade; son, James E. Meade; his parents, Richard and Nellie Byrd Meade and Oscar and Mattie Byrd; his brothers, Willie J. Meade, Percy Lee Meade and Chester Meade.Mr. Meade was a member of the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II. He also was retired from Robbins Tire and Rubber.Mr. Meade is survived by a daughter, Nellie M. Langley, Tuscumbia; his sons, Robert (Phyllis) Meade, Sheffield, Richard (Vicki) Meade III, Knoxville, Tenn., Michael (Chiquita) Meade, Muscle Shoals, William (Ollie) Meade, Scottsboro, Ala., Clarence (Sharyn) Meade, Scottsboro, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Doris Meade, Tuscumbia, Ala.; foster sons, Jeffery (Elaine) Perrin, Fayetteville, N.C., and Arthur Perrin, Greenville, N.C.; his brothers, Oscar (Louise) Meade, Tuscumbia, Oscar (Freda) Byrd, Cincinnati, Ohio, Willie L. Byrd; his sisters, Pearline Allen, Louisville, Ky., Sadie Willingham, Levester (Willam) Morris, Shirley (Stanley) Skipworth and Dorothy (Joe) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Ruben Johnson, Detroit, Mich., Murray Johnson, Tuscumbia, Ala., sisters-in-law, Evelyn Johnson, Lula Young and Nancy Summerhill, Tuscumbia, Ala.; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.The family would like to give a special thanks to Bluewater Hospice.Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Directing
