Samuel Thompson Obituary

Samuel Earl "Sam" Thompson of Rolla, MO, entered this world on January 13, 1958, at the home of his parents the late Mr. Early Thompson and Mrs. Odelle R. Thompson in Lauderdale County, AL. Sam was the oldest of five sons born from this union. Sam transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, March 20, 2026, at his home in Rolla, MO going to his heavenly home for eternal rest with the Lord.


Sam joined Eleven Grove Missionary Baptist Church at the age of thirteen, where he faithfully served until he moved out of state.

Sam was a graduate of Central High School, Florence, AL, class of 1977.

He was employed at the Oakland Furniture Company for several years and after leaving there he worked in the construction industry. Sam's introduction to the pool construction business as a teenager, by his Uncle Ross, led to his final job occupation. He was the owner and operator of Aqua Associates, a successful pool construction and maintenance company in Rolla, MO. His design, construction, and overall knowledge of pools made him much sought after in the area. While living in Rolla for over 25 years, Sam accumulated a remarkably close group of extended family members, close friends, and acquaintances. He had a way about him that drew people to him wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his:

Father: Early Thompson
Brother: Jimmy R. Thompson
Others: Uncles, Aunts, two Nephews, and Cousins

He is survived by the following:
Sons: Marcus D. Thompson, Carlos R. (Ashley) Anderson & Mark W. Fielder
Daughter: Monica Adesina
Mother: Odelle R. Thompson
Brothers: Rev. Ronald G. (Ruby) Thompson, Victor O. (Elaine)
Thompson & Randal S. Thompson
Grandchildren: Zyekous, Zahkayla & Jamarria Thompson & Daija Lanier
Great-grandsons: Kadence Parker & Daylin Lanier
