Sarah Esther Ragland

Sarah Ragland, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at 4:59 PM, surrounded by her family.

She was 64 years old. Born on January 11, 1961, Sarah was a light to all who knew her, radiating love, kindness, and resilience.

Sarah was the cherished daughter of Martha Jones of Florence, AL, and the late William Henry Ragland, Sr. She leaves behind a devoted and loving family: her children, Chris Ragland of Florence, AL, Megan Ragland of Southaven, MS, Michael Ragland of Adelaide, South Australia, and Kelanie Roy of Florence, AL; her siblings, Vellace Boone of Cherokee, AL, Denise Roy of Florence, AL, and William Henry Vaughn Jr. of Florence, AL. Sarah’s greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and caring grandmother to six grandchildren, whose laughter and love she treasured deeply. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces and nephews who adored her. Sarah will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her warm smile, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the North Alabama Medical Center staff and first responders who provided compassionate care and support during Sarah’s most difficult time. They also wish to express their deep gratitude to Reverend Tony Latham for his guidance, prayers, and heartfelt support during this time.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this time of loss.
