Funeral service for Mrs. Pointer will be 11:00am ~ Saturday ~ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church,Florence, Alabama.Burial in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, Alabama.The body will be placed in the church at 10:00am.Mrs. Susie Louise "Red" Pointer was born March 26, 1942, to the late Gussie Lee Williams and James Otis Young Sr., of Florence, Ala. She departed her life Feb. 8, 2008, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.She accepted Christ at an early age. She was active in the church as a member of the Usher Board. She was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church and later moved her membership to Jerusalem P.B. Church in Hillsboro, Ala.Susie was a homemaker for many years.She was preceded by James Otis Young Jr. (brother); Linda Faye Maxwell (sister); three aunts, Josephine Mitchell, Carrie Melvin and Daisy Moman; three uncles, Mose Loman, Fred Loman and Richard Williams.Susie (Red) leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Stephanie Maxwell (Lemond Sanders), of Fairbanks, Alaska; four brothers, Willie Nelson Williams (Lida), Donald Ray Maxwell, Otis Gene Williams (Barbara) and Robert James Williams (Cheryl), all of Florence, Ala.; three sisters, Jessie Lee Pride (Robert), Willie Mae Russell (William Earl) and Gwendolyn Williams, all of Florence, Ala.; aunt, Ella Mae Williams, of Russellville, Ala.; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Susie (Red) was loved by her special friends, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Stewart, Mrs. Fannie Mae Ingram, Ms. Patricia Jordan and Mr. William (Moose) Thomas.
